Act UP:

Summer Theatre Intensive

  • Act.

    Everyone has a story to tell. Learn how to tell yours through acting and writing. Students will be guided in instruction that explores improvisation, monologues, character development, scene building and much more.

  • Move.

    Through direct instruction, even the novice dancer will learn how to use their body as an instrument. Students will engage in a variety of dance styles and be challenged to learn choreography and create dances of their own.

  • Sing.

    From soprano to baritone, every voice matters. Learn techniques that bring out your best voice. Through breathing and vocal exercises, songwriting and ensemble work, students will gain confidence in their voices.

What is Act Up?

A dynamic two-week summer theatre intensive for middle and high school students!

Act Up! offers comprehensive training in acting, dance, vocal performance, and technical theatre in a collaborative, supportive environment.

What will participants do?

  • Rotate through specialized workshops led by experienced instructors

  • Develop skills across multiple performing arts disciplines

  • Create original performance pieces in small collaborative groups

  • Gain hands-on experience with technical theatre elements

  • Showcase their talents in a final performance for family and friends

Does my child need to have experience?

No previous experience necessary.

Whether you're passionate about acting, singing, dancing, or technical production, Act Up! provides the perfect opportunity to expand your artistic horizons and collaborate with fellow young artists.

Are meals provided?

Lunch will be provided. Students should bring snacks and refillable water bottles.
