Act Up! - Summer Theater Intensive

In partnership with the African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), this summer we offered a dynamic two-week summer intensive for middle and high school students! Act UP offered comprehensive training in acting, dance, vocal performance, and technical theatre in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Students:

  • Rotated through specialized workshops led by experienced instructors

  • Developed skills across multiple performing arts disciplines

  • Created original performance pieces in small collaborative groups

  • Gained hands-on experience with technical theatre elements

  • Showcased their talents in a final performance for family and friends
